About Carol Brody

                                        

Carol R. Brody, was born in New York City. Pursuing an education in art, she studied under the direction of Jose de Creeft at the Art Students League in New York. In 1971 she took up residence in London, England and continued to develop her artistic skills at the Camden Arts Center and trained for four years under the supervision of Michele Muller, assistant to Henry Moore. In 1979 she was elected a member of the British National Society of Painters, Sculptors & Printmakers, of which Henry Moore, Graham Sutherland and David Bromberg were members.

 

Working mainly in stone and bronze, her work has been exhibited most often at the Mall Galleries in London with a number of art societies. Many of her sculptures are in private collections in London, New York, Boston, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Sydney, San Francisco, New Orleans and Miami.

 

Carol's biography can be found in Who's Who in Art (London edition) Who's Who in Western Europe, The Worlds Who's Who of Women, Who's Who in the Commonwealth, Foremost Women of the Twentieth Century, and International Who's Who of Intellectuals.

 

In 1983 Carol returned to the United States and established her studio and residence on Long Island. Her sculptures can be found in permanent public collections in England, Israel and the United States. In 1989, she was elected President of the Professional Sculptor's Guild.    A position she held  for 10 years.

Since her return to the United States, Carol has had numerous exhibitions including a solo show in Soho, New York. Her awards include, but are not limited to, 1st prize in sculpture at the Long Beach Museum of Art and the Nassau County Office of Cultural Development. She has also received an Award of Excellence, for the Tri County Artist of Long Island and the Nassau County Museum of Art.

 

Now Carol resides in Boca Raton, Florida where she continues to pursue her art in directions that include Swans for both indoor and outdoor placement, family groups in stone and portrait sculptures in bronze.
